Education Loans

Friday, November 21, 2014

Education loans are meant for people whose income is not high enough to attend school. With high education costs high and the availability of education loans, many people are opting for these loans.

Educational loans are of many kinds: according to the sponsor (federal or private), according to the beneficiary (undergraduate, continuing education, insurance loans, parent loans, payment loans), according to the course: law school, medical school, dental school, MBA, general graduate, or post graduate. There are also career loans for people who are pursuing graduate or postgraduate education on a part to full-time basis.

These days, getting an educational loan has become very easy. There are online application as well as telephone applications. The requirements are often simple-- social security number, date of birth, employer's name, phone number, years of employment, gross annual income (adjusted gross income for self employed individuals) and monthly rent or mortgage payment. There are many loan options to choose from. Repayment options are also sundry. They include standard repayment, graduate repayment, income-sensitive repayment, consolidation, and pre-payment.

Loans from the government have lower interest rates. These include the poplular Stafford loans. Stafford loans are of two kinds: subsidized and unsubsidized. These loans are insured by the government. The government pays the interest for subsidized loans while the recipient is in school at least half-time. These are for people who have low financial status. The rate of interest for the federal Stafford loan is 4.70% during in-school period and 5.30% during the repayment period. There is also the parent loan for undergraduate students (PLUS) that allows parents to borrow any amount up to the cost of education. These are for parents who have dependent undergraduate students. Other loans for parents are: the college loan for parents or sponsors, and independent school loans for K-12. The federal PLUS loan has an interest rate of 6.10%. Other loan rates range from 6 to 10%.

Private loans are useful when government loans are not sufficient in meeting educational needs. These are not guaranteed by the federal government. Certain credit guidelines are applicable for issuing these loans. These are mostly provided by private trusts. Some are offered by the school or universities.

Educational loans can also be applied for online. There are easy loan calculators and online forms for applying for these loans. More information can be obtained from the school or the university's scholarship office.

5 Simple Steps to Get Started in Social Media, That Won't Cost a Dime!

I recently re-read for the first time the wonderful little book, "Who moved my Cheese" by Dr. Spencer Johnson. I say re-read for the first time because I had read it a few years ago and dismissed it. I was absolutely sure that I knew exactly where "my cheese" was.

In fact I did know where my cheese was, what I didn't know at the time was that overnight my cheese would get hijacked and I would be left with no cheese and not a lot of ideas where to find any.

Like Hem and Haw in the book I was convinced that my cheese was in the same place it had always been, but every time I went looking for it, NOTHING!

Eventually, I was starving and I realized I had to become more like Sniff and Scurry and find my new cheese before my 401k funds ran out.

Which brings us to this Free Report.

I decided my new cheese was to be found in learning social media and social networking well enough to start developing my own suspects/prospects/clients and then "paying forward" to help my Real Estate business partners who were struggling to find "their cheese".

I'm not here to sell you anything, but rather to share my experiences and hope they help you in your search for "your cheese".

There are hundreds of "experts" and honestly they know a lot more about this than I do. In fact I've paid money to most of them, as I'm sure many of you have. What I didn't know when I was shelling out all this money, was that there were things I had to do to establish an identity for my business before I would get the value the experts promised.

If you find value in this Free Report, feel free to share it with your colleagues. Just give them the email address from where you received your copy or have them call me.

Thanks and I hope it helps your business.

"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." - Arthur Ashe

Step 1

Don't try to eat the elephant in one bite!

The world is divided into two groups of people:

Group 1 is those people who already, know, like and trust you.

Group 2 is those people who don't

Brilliant, right?

I like to think so, but the first step in social media is recognizing you need a different marketing message for Group 1 than Group 2.

Unless you're already a rock start in your market, chances are your Group 2 is significantly larger than your Group 1.

Think about using social media as a tool to move more people from Group 2 to Group 1 by growing the number of people who "know, like and trust" you.

Which brings us to the elephant. If you noticed the picture on the title page, you can see that the world of social networking is very convoluted and can lead you in so many directions you're likely to end up where you started.

Rule #1 Start Simple

There are literally hundreds of "tools" in social media to help you grow your online reputation and business and most of them don't have practical business applications (yet!)

The world of social media and social networking can be overwhelming, when viewed as a whole but there are certain threads that run through each social platform. One of those threads is that social networking is about meeting and engaging people, not trying to sell them.

You've heard the "cocktail party" metaphor. Social networking is like a cocktail party, you meet people and engage them looking for commonalities and a potential basis for developing a conversation (relationship). You're not trying to marry the people you meet online, but rather to see if there is enough interest for a follow up "cup of coffee" so you can talk some more.

If you give the "Are you or anyone you know interested in buying or selling real estate?" at the on-line cocktail party, people will shut you out and ignore you very quickly.

Why, because they can and it's their cocktail party!

Social media and networking are not designed to replace your off line marketing strategies either. In fact they are the perfect complement to them. The more prospects you can engage on line and work them through your "marketing funnel" until you get the opportunity to meet them face-to-face the more prosperous your business will be.

To start you only need to focus on three platforms:

1. The search engines - Google, Yahoo and Bing, you have to make yourself visible to the search engines or you'll never get found by the people that don't already know you and even they might not have the patience to look too hard. Think page 1 "above the fold".

2. Facebook - You have to be where your customers are and 450 MILLION people can't be wrong.

3. LinkedIn - This is the social networking site of choice for professionals. According to a recent study the average income of LinkedIn users is $109,000/year. Don't know about you, but I need to know more of those kind of prospects.

If you're interested in referrals from other agents, they are most likely to come from here. This is your on-line resume and networking here is likely to provide quicker results. If being an REO agent is in your future it's very likely the asset managers will start their search on LinkedIn to select qualified agents.

Step 2

It's not about you!

This is the most difficult step for most veteran Realtors®.

Think of the internet and social media/networking as part of the largest real estate shopping mall in the history of mankind. Everyday millions of shoppers head to this mall to search for some sort of information about real estate. Unfortunately there are millions of choices for them, fortunately they have a directory to help them find the store they are looking for. That directory is the search engines, Google, Yahoo, Bing and now even Facebook.

So, how do you get to be the one these shoppers find?

Since day one in the business you've been told about growing your brand. Traditional marketing channels like newspapers, homes magazines, marketing flyers were always about YOU!

The evolution of on-line marketing has changed that.

Since the day the first Realtor gave internet access to the MLS, the consumer had the "keys to the kingdom". The consumer is control and they like it that way. They can get the information with or without you.

It's how you add value that will determine your success.

I've posed this dilemma to a number of local Realtors® and have gotten the same response most of the time: "They don't need us anymore"

Absolutely incorrect!

They still need you, but not to search for houses. They can do that while watching "Dancing with the Stars" or on their wireless devices while driving through neighborhoods actually looking at their future dream home.

They need you to be the "resident genius"

They need you to tell them what's going on in the market.

They need you to tell them what's going on in the community.

They need you to tell them why particular subdivisions or neighborhoods are great places to live.

They need you to share with them the "insider secrets" to a successful real estate transaction.

In short, they need your expertise!

The consumer has the keys to the MLS kingdom and they're not giving them up, so you have to find a way to bring value to this budding relationship that is not entirely real estate related.

If you were having a conversation with someone you hadn't previously known, and they asked "Why should I do business with you?"

How would you respond?

You might say because "I'm a market expert", or "I'm the top producer in my office", or "Because I provide outstanding service and I put my client's interest first."

Those are all very good reasons, but that's what every Realtor® says.(It's called me-too marketing)

If everyone is saying the same thing how is the consumer going to hear YOU above all the noise?

You have to have a "WHY ME?" that will separate elevate you above the competition.

Your WHY ME? has to bring value to this relationship.

Never forget Rule #1 of relationships

The person that brings the most value to the relationship will control the relationship!

In the internet world consumers want to be educated (explains why there are millions of blogs) and entertained (YouTube!). They want to receive value.

They want you to give it to them!

Your WHY ME? has to be more than words, you have to show the skeptical consumer that you're different

better than your competition.

Think of yourself as the Mayor of your City/Neighborhood or the President of the local Chamber of Commerce, who happens to sell real estate.

The more time you spend promoting your city, community, or neighborhood. The more trusting consumers will be of you. Then, your real estate job gets a whole lot easier!

Step 3

You need the keys, to get the engine running!

For consumers that don't already know you, they have to be able to find you through the search engines.

How will they do that? They will "Google" what interests them.

Getting found on the internet, whether it be your web page or Facebook business page or even your Google local business listing revolves around keywords, so even if you already have a well established brand using your name, start thinking like your prospects and build your business around your "keywords".

Google Keyword Tool - you will need a Gmail account to access

Here's a exercise

Using the Google keyword tool, enter (your city) real estate or homes for sale in (your city), the keyword tool will give you the number of searches over the past month along with variations of those terms. You can also use the tool to measure how much competition you will have.

Now search by your name with Realtor or real estate agent and compare the number of searches.

If you want to fish...fish where the fish are!

The more proficient you are with keywords, the greater the chance that someone searching for real estate in your local market will find you.

You should strive for a first page ranking on all the search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing) for the target markets you have selected. The chances of being found drop dramatically once you get off the first page.

So, who are your target markets?

If you said, "anyone looking to buy or sell a home", you have almost NO chance of being found.

Why? Because that's the playground where the big kids play and it's very, very expensive to play there, you're competing with Realtor.com, Homes.com, Zillow, Trulia, Movoto and all the other national listing websites. If you have enough money to compete with them, you probably don't need this information.

If you said, "first time home buyers looking to buy in (your city)" or "homeowners looking to stop foreclosure in (your farm area)" your chances of being found have increased dramatically.

Why? These are searches in your local market (hyper-local) and you will find a better quality lead. Research has shown that the closer a consumer gets to their buying decision, the more "granular" their searches get. They may start off searching by "homes for sale", but as they begin to focus on a particular city or neighborhood they're going to search for "(your city) homes for sale" or "(your city) real estate". Then as they identify particular neighborhoods, their searches might be "Paseo del Sol homes" or "Greer Ranch homes for sale".

The interesting part of this search process is that Google has a memory, and as they recognize an individual's searching patterns with particular keywords, they will try to match those searches with relevant content and those pages will rank higher for that consumer.

You can also try "Wonder Wheel"- Watch Wonder Wheel video - which simplifies the keyword search process by giving you the ability to branch off in a number of directions in your search and perhaps find other niche markets.

Step 4

Write a killer profile

"A Google Profile is simply how you represent yourself on Google products - it lets you tell others a bit more about who you are and what you're all about. You control what goes into your Google Profile, sharing as much (or as little) as you'd like."

Even if you don't have a website or a Facebook business page, or a LinkedIn account, you can still be found on the internet by consumers who don't know you, by writing a "killer profile".

A killer profile is one that sounds more like a press release than a bio. Strategic use of keywords in your profile(s) enables consumers to find you based on their searches (Step 3). When you write your profile try to be as keyword rich as possible.

Back to the Google keyword tool and look for more keyword terms that are easily included in your profile.

As much as possible (don't make it weird) refer to yourself in the third person because there will be people who know you or are checking up on you and you want to make sure they can find you as well.

A great source of ideas for a "killer profile" is ActiveRain. Search Realtors in your local area and check out their profiles. You will soon see the difference between a "killer profile" and a "me too" profile.

You only have to write one profile. Create a word or Google document, then just copy and paste to your selected sites.

As you search for other niche markets, update your profile with keywords related to that market.

Your profile only has one purpose! Help people find you!

Just like your profile might be for an on-line dating service, your business profile's purpose is to generate enough interest to have a first date, then you can let the relationship grow from there,

How will you know if it works?

Upload your profiles to each of the search engines, to your Facebook business page, and to LinkedIn .

Give it a couple days, then Google your name. You should see dramatic improvement.

Maintaining your search engine ranking is not a "set it and forget it" strategy. Too many agents have spent a lot of time building their ranking only to lose it 30 days later because they didn't keep the contact fresh.

Your online visibility all starts with your keyword rich profile. Take the time to write a "killer profile" and you should see improvement quickly.

Step 5

Do it!

The only bad on-line strategy is the one you don't do!

Remember, you have competition out there and it's not limited to just your MLS board. Think about how many Realtors in Southern California have access to your MLS listings. That is how much competition you have.

To beat your competition you will have to be:

1) Creative- Take a look at what your competition is doing and do something different. Just because they're doing it doesn't mean it's working. Think like your prospects, how can you educate, entertain, or enrich?

2) Patient - Like all relationships, on-line relationships take a while to develop. Don't expect immediate results. Treat your on-line platforms with the same diligence you use for your off-line marketing. Be consistent. If you feel a relationship is getting stale, get creative and try something new, if that doesn't work try something else.

The only thing constant in internet marketing is change. The technology is changing at a dramatic pace and in a year even these suggestions may be out of date.

You have to be committed to invest the time and effort to develop your on-line reputation.

Perhaps the worst thing that can happen to you is you find a qualified prospect and when they go on-line to "check you out" (and they will!) they can't find you, but instead find another agent who has taken the time to build an "on-line brand".

A Review on Afghanistan Media Assessment: Opportunities and Challenges for Peacebuilding

Thursday, November 20, 2014

In the very vivid media sphere of Afghanistan, there is no depth. Recently, before finishing my book on Afghanistan, I tried to interview some people inside and outside the country. Every time I contacted people in the media sector, they asked which TV or radio station I did represent. The main and effective media in Afghanistan are extraordinarily oral. By "extraordinarily," however, I am admitting the same condition for other nations, but pose much higher level of being oral for Afghanistan media and culture.

In this context, there are so many articles and programs about Afghanistan media. Yet, few proceed to conduct an academic, extensive and impartial study to give a clear picture of what is going on inside the media sector of Afghanistan. Therefore, the Afghanistan Media Assessment report could be the most reliable study on the Afghanistan media, since publication of the Seraj al Akhbar, a hundred years ago. I can even think that sometimes Afghan authorities refer to this report when they make any decision on domestic media.

The study has been carried out in 2009 and 2010. The first author Eran Fraenkel is an expert and instructor in metrics and evaluation. The report claims he has done numerous works on broadcast media. His first co-author is Emrys Shoemaker who is a strategic and development communications specialist. He has worked with various government and United Nations agencies, as well as with international and local nongovernmental organizations, throughout the Middle East. And, finally, the third author is Sheldon Himelfarb who is an associate vice president at USIP and executive director of the Center of Innovation for Media, Conflict, and Peacebuilding. Though the report says that they are very experienced in their works, unfortunately, their profiles on the Internet are poor and their contacts are hardly found on the Internet. With some existing contact details, I tried to come in contact with them but either the contacts were not valid or they didn't respond to me. I also left voice message for the authors in Center of Innovation for Media, Conflict, and Peacebuilding, but got no response.

The reason for contacting authors and sponsor was that I wanted to get more details on how that work was carried out as it presently has some methodological problems and ambiguities, which I am going to describe.

The first problem for this study is sampling. The sampling is important, indeed, and when it comes to do research in Afghanistan, it even becomes even more important for any researcher to design a well-structured sampling strategy. This study does not provide any table of details on respondents. In a society like Afghanistan, different samples in different districts of a same city will answer differently and sometimes opposite. Presently and without these details, it is hard to review the methodology of the report.

Second problem is regarding the methodology for analyzing raw data, here, in-depth interviews. Did you just categorize them? Or you tried to design a frame within which the pieces come together to contribute in making the big picture? Here again, any judgment is almost impossible.

Third problem is regarding the local colleagues. In Afghanistan, there is a fragile agreement among ethnicities not to provoke each other. Yet, in this rivalry, few dare to stay impartial. People may be academicians, but at the same time, they are discursive soldiers of their ethnic of origin. In this sphere, foreign researchers will be seduced frequently by local colleague in order to benefit a certain group. When the foreign researchers are Westerners, it becomes even more important for local colleagues to win their hearts and minds. They know how texts are important in the West and how reports may affect policies which directly and indirectly affect ethnicities in Afghanistan. So, a small change in the team of fieldworkers, will culminate in totally different results.

The fourth problem also concerns local colleagues. The huge amount of work on this report was mainly carried out by Afghan colleagues. Where are their names? Ethically, all researchers' names should appear in the report. Yes, they have already been paid well, but, that is not enough.

The fifth problem with this work is lack of enough contextual knowledge regarding the object being studied: Afghanistan culture and media. There are many instances. I am bringing this one for your review:

Many respondents, both in and outside the media sector, indicated their own and wider public perception of Iran's negative impact on the Afghan media landscape. Iran's influence was said to range from financially supporting sympathetic Afghan media (described as "Shi'a" media), to opening cultural centers that distribute videos and other pro-Iranian materials, to sending Iranian broadcast and print materials to Afghans living in border zones (page 11).

Here the authors are unable to realize that most of the Iranian cultural influence in Afghanistan is not political. Historically, Iranians and Afghans share many cultural traits and as cultures have geographical continuity, with the help of new communication technologies, the exchanges have become accelerated. Another reason for zeal to Iranian cultural products is their value. With no doubt, Iranian cultural products are much closer to what is known as "high art," in comparison to Indian and Pakistani cultural products. So, the discipline defines how it receives in Afghanistan and by whom. The final reason for Iranian cultural influence in Afghanistan is Persian language. This is the main language of people in Afghanistan and people enjoy more from the programs which are produced with their language. Also, Persian language is very reach as it is the language of many elegant writers and poets.

Based on my experience, Iranian political system has a very ineffective presence in Afghanistan cultural sphere. When I was in Afghanistan, I could not find anyone who could tell me he had referred to Iranian cultural representation once.

Let us see another example for poor knowledge of social context:

Respondents remarked that educated Afghans, particularly those returning from voluntary or involuntary time abroad, often face hostility as purveyors of foreign ideas. Rather than being welcomed back to their communities with their educational accomplishments applauded, returnees often bear the label khariji (foreigner) (page 14).

Practically, Hazaras more than any other ethnic group in the society experience such discrimination. For other ethnicities, the situation is much better. As an example, Kabul University accepts many faculty members who spent most of their lives abroad, but in most of the cases rejects Hazaras.

The sixth problem is the value of the findings. Yes, a huge work was done. But, if an Afghan communication and media scholar was asked by the same question, he or she would have provide the same answers without any need to spend tens of thousands of dollars!

And finally, despite many shortcomings and problems, most of the claims and findings of the report are true, based on my knowledge of Afghanistan media and people. Authors should again thank their Afghan colleagues for doing such a good job. And Afghanistan should thank the author for doing such an extensive historical work. I hope the same study will be replicated soon, considering my points.

How to Get Clients to Crave Your Social Media Marketing Content

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

When it comes to delicacy I love to talk about it. I love great food. I love eating. I love great chocolate, good coffee and good cheese. I love to cook and bake... I think I should have been born in Paris France and have my own gourmet store or a restaurant. I love to invite people to my house and treat them right and bring the best food to them... I love to entertain and make my guests feel special...I love to be a hostess and see smiles on people faces and feeling of happiness.. I love to see the result of my cooking and baking and sometimes simply just entertaining.

I am sure you understand where I am going with that. Social Media Marketing is a like a gourmet food store. There are variety of foods and delicacies and some of us come and just take what we need and go home with it. Social media content is our our delicacy. What we put in front of our viewers is what we get back. Do we really put the best out to our viewers and get the feedback so we know what to do next? Do we really interact with people? Do we satisfy our hungry customers with good food or just something to throw to them just to keep them quite? How do we treat our customers?

First, the content we put out there must be our delicacy. If we focus on giving the free valuable training, tips and just good stuff people want and need that offers change in their life, career, relationships, they will come back for more. They would not care about the price of your product because they know YOU are A REAL DEAL. It is like eating cheap cheese or buying real french brie that costs much more but the experience is divine. The rich social media content brings the feeling of pleasure and personal happiness as the best delicacy. YOU INC becomes that special stop for your audience to get the best and learn from the best.

Secondly, you must have fun with the delicacy. You must enjoy what you serve and what we eat too. You must enjoy being in social media arena and also being able to interact with your customers because they are your main judges but also your best helpers to make your business better. You must learn to listen to them and accept even constructive criticism.

Third, you must learn how to maintain the relationships. Do not just tease people with good stuff once.. Imagine, if you are a hostess and you invite people to your house and you serve a great dinner and nice china and your food is great and hospitality is outstanding. You may do it once or twice and then you get tired and forget about it. You serve out of the paper plates and cheap food for them to eat. You think they will take what comes their way. There is nothing wrong in serving on paper plates but it is about ATTITUDE toward your customers matters. Make sure you are consistent in your efforts. That is the key to successful marketing and getting results you truly want. Then, your viewers and your customers will know that you are planning to stay in business.

Fourth, make sure educate people properly. Provide truthful information without hype.. People will eventually taste it and see if it was a real thing or not, like that expensive cheese I talked to you about. They will know it fast. Once they taste the real stuff you offer they will never go back.. That is how you can stop pitching them your offers by serving what their heart desires and what they truly want. You will be able to to gain credibility and respect in your community and people will be attracted to you because they will love the experience working and learning from you and getting results from your education and service. It is all about attitude. Be authentic. Give the BEST! It will come back to you many times more!

Online Education Background Checks: Employers and Student's First Choice to Legitimacy!

As higher education becomes more of a determining factor in one's eligibility for all sorts of jobs and the employers are keeping their consent over quality employment, many job applicants are looking for shortcuts to remain competitive in the marketplace. And since the economic halt had started and finding a job become a harsh business, people are trying to get their way out by forging their educational documents or even buying education to fake "diploma mills." They don't even know that this could not only humiliate them in front of their prospective employer but also end their career in a gutter. A total loss of time, money and mental peace.

Every single employer is now looking for the best employee and they are judging their prospective candidate on the basis of education and the legitimacy of their credentials earned during their study. Employers are keeping a close eye on every single incumbent by running comprehensive education background checks as they knows the fact that educational success reveals a great deal about an applicant's credentials and motivations; and through education background checks, an employer can get an accurate depiction of their qualifications as well their intentions of playing a role in development of the company.

Some Astounding Facts about Forged Education Credentials Caught by Education Background Checks:

  • In 2004, the US General Accounting Office revealed that nearly 200,000 federal employees had at the very least exaggerated education credentials on their resume.

  • SHRM(Society for Human Resource Management): More than 53% of job applicants falsify information on their resumes; one in four candidates misrepresents his educational attainment.

  • ADP Hiring Index: 49% of employment, education and or credential reference checks reveal discrepancies in the applicant's information.

  • Association of Certified Fraud Examiners: 41% of applicants lie about their education.

The above inclination of facts about the defined scenario indicates an increase in the likelihood that employer's who don't verify education will hire unqualified personnel. Hiring unqualified personnel, in turn, leads to higher employee turnover, forcing the organization to incur expensive recruiting and replacement costs.

The Other Cunning Problem: Online Degree Scams aka Diploma Mills:

The second biggest and most souring, surging problem for employers are fake diploma mills which are playing a role in instigating fraud among the innocent people. These online cheap diploma/degree making factories are looting people for fast track degrees.

Diploma mills and degree mills as well as various websites, advertise very realistic, physical diplomas and transcripts, which have been found to deceive many employers. Therefore, with the striking statistics of resume fraud, employers should think twice about using physical diplomas as proper evidence of a degree. Because the requirement for education qualification has become so demanding, education fraud is becoming more prevalent, as are the establishments of diploma mills.

Consequently, in order to combat education fraud, laws have recently been passed in which companies who manufacture fake degrees and diplomas are considered to have committed a Misdemeanor.

Why and How Education Background Checks Can Maintain Equilibrium Between Employers and Job Seekers?

Many employers view particular educational qualifications as a key factor in seeking new employees. Moreover, education is a prerequisite for many positions because it ensures applicable knowledge of a subject matter, or more importantly, a required license for the position.

Educational history may be the most commonly falsified information on an application or resume. Some estimates place the incidence of resumes containing erroneous education information as high as 30 percent. Clearly, employers should be extremely cautious. And they are not accepting copies of a degree from candidates as proof of their graduation given that it can simply be a clever forgery paid for by the applicant.

Education background checks or education verification is the only way to prevention not only for the employers but also for the people who are looking for education but a legitimate one.

Current System of Education Background Checks and Degree/ Diploma Verification Are Not Enough!

  1. At present, human resource departments in companies directly contact the concerned educational institution and undertake verification. This is no longer a viable solution, considering the increase in the number of recruitment's, and the time taken for verification. This is also not a fool proof method.

  2. A second method, often adopted by many of the larger corporations, is to outsource their employment verifications to background screening companies, who maintain large personnel databases.

Online Education Background Checks is the Most Modern and Guaranteed Way to Nab a Forged Educational Document with a Plus of Diploma Mill Identification:

Online education background checks is the system of online degree, diploma and education verification. The system consists of a database of fake colleges and universities and as well as the misdemeanors who faked their documents in past. It is now the best free online resource for the employers as well as for the students, who can check their institutions as well. It's a killer product for the keen employers as well as for the legitimate education seeking students.

Benefits for Employers Using Online Education Background checks:

  • Employers can be able to save themselves from a negligent hiring lawsuit.
  • Employers can be able to hire the best qualified employee for their respective positions.
  • Online education background checks are fast then conventional education verification process, enabling an employer to make quick hiring decision.
  • Online education background checks can save money and good amount of time.

Benefits for the Students Using Online Education Background checks:

  • Assurance that the institution is meeting certain educational quality standards.
  • Reasonable grounds for believing that the institute will continue to meet them.
  • Assurance that their Degrees will be widely accepted by the employers, professional associations, other colleges and universities.
  • Belief that their Degree will reap the benefits associated with sound and high-quality educational standards.

Concluding Remarks:

Falsified education credentials have become a serious issue in the workforce; it breaches the faith on employees who are involved, especially when it can directly affect other employees and the company as a whole. It is also a serious blunder on the part of the employer who should have done proper education background checks; a mistake that could essentially hinder their current position.

Education background checks for employment; verify the certification, training, or educational claims of a job applicant. The universities, colleges, vocational schools, etc. are checked to verify dates of attendance and graduation, degrees or certifications obtained, majors studied, GPA, and honors received by a potential job candidate. The verification of education process is an important part of a quality pre-employment background check.

Although a federal law has been implemented to target diploma mills that give out phony diplomas, the problem still exists and is far from being corrected. In the meantime, employers and students must remain steadfast about conducting education background checks that include verifying academic credentials and institutions for their legitimacy.

The online qualification verification and diploma/degree mill checking system is significant source of help to the employers and students looking for easy and free of cost education background checks.

E Learning: Why Choose Online Education?

Sunday, November 16, 2014

The Internet boom is far from over, although it has been taking a slightly different slant in the past few years; hardly surprising as technologies advance and trends change. The World Wide Web is the largest resource of information in the whole world and whatever your needs the Internet can provide. What started as a bubble has soon become a massive tidal wave and online education is one of the areas that is still increasing, probably more than ever before.

You can shop online, you can watch TV online, and you can even book your holidays online or work online and now you can complete perfectly legitimate and recognised educational courses online. Far from being the alternative form of education used solely by working parents it is becoming just as popular with teenagers and professionals all around the world. There are no boundaries to learning when using the Internet. You can study a course that local colleges and educational institutions in your area don't offer and you can do so without having to quite your job and leave home.

You don't need to take three years to complete a course; you can often work at your own pace, fitting in around your commitments and according to your spare time.

What courses are on offer?

As well as courses designed primarily for completion on the Internet, many educational institutions are now leaning towards offering the major courses to be completed in the comfort of your own home. College degrees and graduate degrees are available in almost any subject you could imagine with many benefits over the traditional 'classroom' approach.

E-learning offers a vast array of topics too, from American History to Zoology and everything in between. Perhaps you are in full time employment and want a change in career. Not many of us can afford to just give up work and go back to college so online education could be the perfect answer.

Maybe you are unemployed and can't find work suitable for you or the qualifications and experience you have. Online education can offer you the opportunity to gain more qualifications without the expenses of travelling or accommodation.

Why should I choose an online education course?

There are many advantages to online education. The courses are usually tailored to meet the different demands that are entailed within an online learning community. You are usually free to study at your own time and pace, so you have the opportunity to complete your chosen course quickly or as slowly as you want.

There are no travel costs involved with online education and no travel time whatsoever. The only time you will need to dedicate to your learning will be the time you spend studying and any trips to the library or other institution you may need.

Many jobs and careers demand a good working knowledge of the Internet, and by completing your course online you are already many steps closer to that end. You will have excellent knowledge on Internet research; always being able to find the information that is useful to you.

There are some factors you should consider when deciding whether to opt for online education or a more traditional classroom education. You will need a reasonably up to date PC, together with an Internet Connection. Fortunately, computer prices have dropped in recent years, so you can get a capable PC for little more than $300. If you consider using eBay or buying a refurbished PC then you can reduce this price even more. Don't forget, you will need a printer, operating software, word processing software and an Internet connection but again the price of these has dropped dramatically.

If you don't have much working knowledge of a computer or the Internet you will need to find your way around at first and this can seem a daunting task for the beginner. Don't panic, just stick with it and buy yourself (or borrow from friends or the library) books on how to use the software you are going to need. Once online the Internet has all of this information at hand, and the world becomes your playground.

A summary of online education.

Online education can help all people from all walks of like gain the education they want to better themselves or to advance in the career they already have. Whether you are a working parent or an unemployed bachelor, there are courses available for you to complete through online education.

Online education offers many benefits and few pitfalls when compared to the more traditional 'classroom' approach but you should carefully consider your options before jumping in.

There are costs associated with virtually all online education courses but these are usually little more than the costs to study at a college and when you consider that there are no travelling expenses and no extra living costs, you may find online education to be a much more financially viable option.

Education Capitalization

Friday, November 14, 2014

Education carried out by government and also private sector requires a real operating expenses height. Most all sector is relating to education must be bought. Book, chalk, ruler, and teaching aid readily uses for example, must be bought. Therefore, education requires cost.

Presumption like that not then is followed up with closing eyes and ear with interest places forward commercial factor than social. Education is not commodity, but effort carries out system and certain mechanism that man is able to improve; repair their/his self, can make balmy itself, and solvent of interaction as man.

Education paradigm growing in Indonesia in this XXI century step by step has started leaves aspiration of the founders this republic nation-state that is that every citizen entitled to get education that is competent. The republic founders aware to that performing of the education are addressed to makes man is humanitarianly and can make process towards at fullness of spirit hence would very ironic with situation of education these days.

The Role of the Government and Private sector

Education is responsibility of all suborder. By referring this assumption, education organizer is not merely government but also entangles the side of private sector individually and also group. Thereby, governmental hoped all members of publics responsible educate Indonesian.

Despitefully, because of limitation of cost, governmental given opportunity of it's bigger to public to participate and develops business through education. This assumption comprehended by public by building opening school, courses, or skilled education type with facility that is better than school build and owned government. By giving supporting facilities for education that is rather differs in, rather complete, and promises makes education managed the side of private sector must be redeemed with cost that is not is cheap. So expensive education.

Indonesia has ever owned Perguruan Taman Siswa carrying out education for public? People with motivation educate public? People. Indonesia also has education system of pesantren (Islamic models) which is not collects payment which in the form of money from it's the student. Student in pesantren modeled this salaf (classical) not only studies public sciences (like biology, physics, mathematics, language, and art) they also studies Islam science for the sake of individual and public.

Without realized already happened friction of motivation of organizer and the management of the existing education. Education organizer of private sector tends to sells dream with equipment of facility which they perform. They disregard condition of Indonesia public most doesn't have purchasing power and energy? Power to bargain. Pupil old fellow will be given on to reality "expensive school" and "go to school for rich man children".

Of course, must also be confessed that the school requires cost. However, collects expense of height for education is a real wrong deed; more than anything else in Constitution 1945 has expressed that any citizen [is] entitled to get education.

Capitalist: Having Under the Law

Shifts it purpose of education levying from formulated by the Republic of Indonesia founders is really peeping out suborder concern. If education only be carried out just for man who is having money, hence the biggest layer of Indonesia public? People will not have formal education. Poor people and people, who don't have purchasing power, will yield apathetic generation. Thereby, will lose also one civilization links a nation.

Education carried out with only menitikberatkan at present financial advantage will only make man is more individually and once in a while overrules that the man basically is created autonomous. Tendency and dependency to get it's (the capital returns will make education product to enable all ways, machiavelistical.

Other side, education system this time makes detached man from it's (the area and sometimes abstracted from its (the community root. Properly is critical that education system this time makes educative participant not autonomous and sometimes forgets spirit to as social creature or according to opinion Aristotle's that the man Zoon Politicon.

Semestinyalah had if education aimed at accomplishment of copartner ship standard (company) must be refused. Ideally, education must load agenda for "humanizes man" (humanization), non dehumanization. By collecting expense of height because law barium; by itself education has been transferred to accomplishment of industrial requirement. More than anything else in Indonesia, diploma is respectable reference and the only equipment to get work that is competent.

By positioning education carried out by government and also law barium private sector must, public trapped at acute dilemma. In one public sides requires education to increase it's the humanity reality, medium on the other side no cost is small monster or endless nightmare.

Tussle between fears and desire of public to send to school it's the children exploited by certain party sides. This condition is a real condition profits if evaluated from the aspect of business. Panic buyers are really condition hardly to the advantage of my pelaku-pela is business.

Opinion: Education is Sacral Factor

Indonesia Public till now still of opinion that formal education is equipment the only to improve; repair life, to get work with good production, good salary, and to fulfill primary requirements, beside can boost up degree. This assumption by generations and always is looked after causing peeps out assumption and places formal education as thing which sacral.

Though all formal education, vocational school is not interesting means. As it's (the impact, vocational schools teaching is skilled becoming not draws. Vocational school is school for member of marginal public. Vocational school teaching how facing and draws up life is assumed not elite and ancient. Despitefully, vocational school is not place of for rich man children, but majored for children from poor family.

Social Lameness as poison impact goad to school which only is enjoyed by rich man children will peep out oppressed feeling and not balmy among poor people. Poor public of which cannot send to school it's (the children will assume it as destiny which must be received and assumes it as penalization of God. Irony, of course. But this is reality when schools becomes is expensive and poor people [shall] no longer have place in school.

Minister of National Education in Indonesia for the existing likely increasingly far from nationality vision. Even with movement of schools autonomy increasingly clearly shows capitalization symptom of education. Now education is managed by using management of business that is then yields cost is sky. Expense of education more and more expensive, even impressed has become business commodity for the owner of capital (capitalist). By using pre-eminent school label, favorite school, peer school etcetera expense of education increasingly strangles poor people. Our education increasingly grinds marginal clan. Where situation of our education justice if certifiable school of that is just for they having money only?

While as man who sure is normal of public will choose best life. However, because of its (the disability and its (the kepicikan in looking at education problem, its (the objectivity is also disappears. Indonesia Public of course requires resuscitation that education is one essential part to improve; repair quality of it's (the humanity. Of course, there is no guarantee that education will make people to become rich, influential, famous, and in command.

Cover? Conclusion

Debate of length still need to be strived before Indonesia public can look into formal education as not the only equipment to improve; repair its(the life. Public must realize formal education is not as of its (the pitch.

Resuscitation need to be trained to pebisnis. School that is till now is viewed as the only equipment which able to be used to reach for and can realize its (the aspiration is not farm to get advantage. Therefore, not righteously school utilized as means to make a living. In school still and ought to slip between idealism, so that there is no reason again to expensive of education that is with quality, complete supporting facilities, and has various facilities.

Other alternative is publicizing intensively that non diploma required but ethos and hard work, motivates to build their/his self, and desires to live in better front must be inculcated early. Public must be awaked that becoming public servant is not the price of death.

Social Media Marketing - Why You Should Wake Up 24 Minutes Earlier Every Day

Thursday, November 13, 2014

One of the most common complaints I hear from small business owners about doing Social Media is "I don't have any time".

I reply "Who does?"

It's really not a case of if you have time to do Social Media; it's more a case of making Social Media a priority. Let's face it, if you gave Social Media the same priority as eating food, you'd do it pretty often wouldn't you? So the real question is: What would it take for you to realize how important Social Media is for your business?

This might help...

-There are currently 500 million Facebook users, and it's increasing by the hundreds of thousands daily.

-There are over 90 million Twitter users

-There are over 220 million active YouTube users

But what does all this mean for MY small business?

It means that YOUR customers and potential customers are out there. And if you're not out there, they're likely creating online relationships with your competitors. Get it?

Have you ever owned an old car? What happened when you upgraded to a new one? You realized what you were missing out on all that time, right? You realized how good it feels to drive a nice, clean, comfortable, reliable car that you actually look forward to driving.

It's the same with your pre-Social Media life. Currently, if you're not using Social Media in your business, but you're still 'getting by' with the leads that are coming in you don't realize how good it will feel to have a relationship-based marketing machine working for you and growing your business.

You see, remaining stuck in an old paradigm won't grow your business. Saying "I don't understand computers, the Internet or Social Media" won't grow your business. In fact, in this new age of business, the likes of which we've never seen before, if you're not using Social Media in the next couple of years, you likely won't have a business. It's really that simple.

You don't need to spend 5 hours a day on Facebook. You don't need to spend 3 hours a day on Twitter. And you don't need to spend another hour on YouTube.

From my own experience, if you have a plan before you log in, it typically takes about 8 minutes at a time. That's enough time to read what others have posted, reply if you'd like to, respond to friend requests and post your own comment(s).

I'd recommend you log in three times a day. First thing in the morning (before you check your normal email), second time at midday and again at about 4pm before the end of the workday. So, 8 minutes times 3 logins equals 24 minutes. And where is that time going to come from? Simple, just wake up 24 minutes earlier every day! You are committed to growing your business aren't you?

"What do I post on my Facebook page?"

To position yourself as an expert in your field it's essential that you post information that will either educate, inform and help prospects or customers in one way or another. Tips, hints, secrets, ideas, info, news etc about your product, service or industry is what will help people, and purely by providing this information you'll be perceived as an expert, the person to deal with.

Your Facebook friends (ideally your business network contacts) will receive your daily tips and gain value from them so they can apply them to their business. All the while this is building credibility and trust for you and your business.

The key to using Facebook and Twitter is to do these 4 things:

1. Create a network of people who either could buy from you or who know people who would buy from you.

2. Educate and Inform these friends/followers/fans with tips and advice about your industry/products/services/solutions etc.

3. Build up trust and credibility so they visit your website, then capture their details using Email Marketing tools such as AWeber or ConstantContact.

4. Follow up with them via newsletters, events, pre-launches etc...CONSISTENTLY.

Now, you may be a little overwhelmed with this to-do-list, however, just start doing one thing at a time. I'd recommend that you first develop a daily habit of posting valuable tips and advice on your Facebook wall and/or Facebook business page. Link your Facebook to your Twitter so that your posts to your Facebook business page will automatically be sent as 'tweets' on your Twitter page. Once you're doing this consistently it's time to begin thinking about the entire cycle you can take a prospect through to ultimately gaining sales.

Educational Technology Promotes Visual Literacy

Visual literacy is the ability to analyze and derive meaning from information presented in image form. Under this definition, images can be "read" and through the process of "reading" these images, meaning can be derived and subsequently communicated.

One of the seven recommendations made in a report from the Office of Educational Technology (U.S. Department of Education, 2004) for continuing to improve the use of technology in schools is a distinct move toward digital content.

Moving Toward Digital Content

Anyone that has had a student in college recently knows first-hand that textbooks are becoming more expensive each semester, not to mention how quickly they become outdated. A move toward increased use of education technology and its digital content (multimedia and online information), and away from such textbooks, offers many advantages. In addition to the cost savings, it also means improved accessibility, increased efficiency, and enhancing learning opportunities in a format that engages today's internet-focused students.

Because of the unprecedented rate of recent advances in educational technology, this move toward digital content also means that educators must increasingly promote visual literacy as indispensable to day-to-day life. Educators are just beginning to recognize the importance developing students' visual literacy so they may survive, communicate, and succeed in a highly complex world.

Preparing Students for the Workplace

The DOE report makes it clear that educational technology consists of a set of strategic resources that improve a student's "ability to sense, measure, question, understand, communicate, and learn." These resources enable students to become scientists, focused on active learning, rather than passive consumers of textbook-delivered content. Students find it easier to learn core concepts because they are offered visual representations of ideas that provide more precision and clarity. Boring, passive memorization of content transforms into a dynamic, hands-on investigative process that exposes them to many of the same tools and processes that they will encounter in the workplace as adults.

Teaching visual literacy in the classroom means providing activities for students to critically analyze the images presented to them through media. It also means equipping students with the tools they need to present their work in a way that effectively communicates the content. More and more students are looking for educational technology to enhance their individual learning environments. As educators, it is our duty to provide it.

Challenges in Education in Today's Society - Globalization and Changes in Education

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Recent investigations in the study of demographic trends at global level are currently making light on a very controversial aspect, although ignored by global institutions, like O.N.U., U.N.D.P., G 20, same by organizations with attributions in the educational field (as UNESCO, Youth International Authorities and other). The so-called "demographic winter" phenomenon, which reveals the dramatic consequences of the "modern" life, marked by familial and moral decline, by miscarriage, vulgarization and the homosexuality "normalization", by the poisoning influence of the majority of mass-media and the "Hollywood culture" are inoculating egocentrism, frivolity and irresponsibility. Considering this demographic trend offers a new dimension to the way in which abundance and resource of the world are distributed and also gives a new vision on elementary educational issues.

The globalization of education is reflecting itself in the extension and unification of educational practices, used by all those public or private entities, involved as active social educators. Over time, the public education systems in developed or emerging countries, which promote formal education, are illustrating with consistency the practice of a classical education system. In the field of non-formal education there are used more innovating and diverse methods of education, but unfortunately few of this are oriented upon individual behaviour reshaping in the global context, and they are looking only to proliferate consumerist habits, by preparing youngsters for a successful professional career start. The presence of NGO's with international coverage and professional training companies has fixed the currently understood "development in education" in comfortable limits. This makes room for a reshape of educational fundamentals and, more obvious, for the ultimate purpose of learning.

Most people think that education should equip them with the proper exploitation instruments so that they can forever trample over the masses. Still other thinks that education should furnish them with noble ends rather than means to an end. The function of education, therefore, is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. But education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but with no morals.

Socially speacking, the technological revolution, the broaden access to information and the modern lifestyle facilities have made possible the appearance of an irreversible phenomenon in the conflict between generations. In our present times, the children, "sons of globalization" have access to multiple sources of information, with the internet being most of the time an instrument of self-education. The balance is leaning in the favour of the power of informed youth, who become "the teachers", explaining the new world order to the eldest. This theory takes into consideration the acceleration of technology and the way of our lifestyle, but, beyond its observational character, it does not bring up the discussion on the relevance of educational systems, visible outmoded, which attempts to destroy the moral and statutory principles. The wisdom is transmitted from the old generation to the youth, and not backward.

Therefore we are raising the question regarding the way organisms responsible for educational issues should reconsider the basic fundamentals of this basic activity, which clearly has guided the evolution of our world so far. It isn't enough for organizations like U.N.E.S.C.O or U.N.D.P. to confront the absence of primary education and the discrimination regarding access to education in underdeveloped countries, to avoid resettling the educational needs inside an inappropriate system. It is necessary to deal with these aspects in proper time, because we consider education the key-element which can slow down the process of planet and people self destruction.

The proposal regarding fundamentals reshaping and reviewing the individual education, approached in all stages and cycles of life, starts with the assumption that "Man has to be educated to act responsible towards the environment and civilization, and not interfere in the harmony and balanced world development with his behaviour". This observation, not exactly recent, triggered a chain of initiatives in the educational system in countries like France, Italy, Germany, including Romania, but I consider that implementing a discipline of Civic Education, in the gymnasium module is not enough, neither convincing.

We feel that the new fundamentals and principals of education, which must be known, understood and applied by every teacher, through all the range of educational processes in the long life learning of individuals, and also in the non formal educational process, whereat people have access during existence are:

1. Self-consciousness - is essential because it allows every individual to find his role in society, to know his weak points and to develop them according to his unique talents genetically inherited. A person aware of his/her self can easily act in choosing the occupation or the carrier to practice that he or she will be able to direct his energies to and recognize the real problems that the world and society faces. Consciousness-based education, introduced in 1971 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is unique in its ability to effectively develop the total brain potential of every student.

2. Stimulating creativity - this special quality is reflected in the mental and social process of generating new ideas, concepts, associations, and permits individual adaptation to unpredictable contexts and situations. There are simple techniques, associated to lateral thinking that can promote this capacity, for example: improvisation, fiction as imaginary product, (Randomness, Improvisation, P.S.).

3. Communication - in the actual forms and methods used as learning practices, communication is not capitalized at being the supreme value, because mostly individual activity it's encouraged, which promotes inappropriate values like egoism, indifference, self-interest. Without communicating problems and discussing difficult situations, there is no way to claim solving the issues in optimal parameters of time, quality and accuracy. The man can not act in terms of social responsibility, as a "macro attitude", which I consider as being shallowly approached, especially in the economical environment.

4. Promoting a responsible role in society - education must train one for quick, resolute and effective thinking. To think incisively and to think for one's self is very difficult. We are prone to let our mental life become invaded by legions of half truths, prejudices, and propaganda. At this point, I often wonder whether or not education is fulfilling its purpose. A great majority of the so-called educated people do not think logically and scientifically. Even the press, the classroom, the platform, and the pulpit in many instances do not give us objective and unbiased truths. To save man from the morass of propaganda, in my opinion, is one of the chief aims of education. Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction. This is the way in which he or she could develop and exercise an active role in society.

5. Changing opening - in order to be able to intervene in the actual course of the life circle, accepting and promoting the changes is considered a healthy habit, which stimulates the flexibility and the disruption of existing corporately stereotypes, which are heading humanity to destruction, because of the ignorance or simply because of unknown problems that Terra is facing. From this perspective, the change tackling implies a real transformation at psychological level and of human behaviour, therefore to satisfy those priorities needed to be handled immediately. Here we refer to: the necessity of a re-conversion of world economy from a military economy to civil one, immediate solutions for energetic and environmental problems, as well as for the underdevelopment and poverty aspects propagated into the world.

6. Global vision upon world - the actual educational system, as a whole, is constituted by a sum of operations (method -> evaluation -> communication), whose final objective must reflect a pragmatic and global view on the world. At present, the youth is informed regarding global problems through sources like mass media, not making possible a healthy analysis, not making possible a debate and a thoroughness facilitation that could lead to the understanding and building-up personal opinions regarding aspects like underdevelopment, global economical relations, international monetary system, etc.

7. The ability of solving problems - solving problems is the easiest way to re-create conditions and actions in an artificial manner, experience which allows pupils and students to deal with in a constructive way and to develop solutions for different problems. Learning systems which are basically constructed like this are superior because it helps individuals to recognise and adapt to specific economic, social, psychological, spiritual context and to detect real problems in any form, associating optimal alternatives of decision. For example, simulating a complex economical context for a start-up enterprise leads to the stimulation of individual creativeness and decision-making abilities.

8. Multidisciplinary teams - to permit the reshaping and the restructuring of scholar curricular in the needed form in order to develop these abilities and capacities, we are suggesting even some changes in the study of discipline, considering the logical and contextual relations between them, providing an understanding of all existing correlations at a certain point. For example, Public Finances should be studied in the International Monetary System context and not separately. At the same time this characteristic involves, according to those said before, the start point of collaborations between students coming from different specialization, in order to accomplish complex projects with a multidisciplinary approach. In this case, the elaboration of a business plan would unite students from different specializations in economical science discipline (services, marketing, management) and students from engineering, agriculture and others profile Universities.

In recent years, there have been promoters that recognise the importance of remodelling and updating the learning systems and they have introduced some of this principals through various pedagogic and psychology methods and ideas, which became guide-lines in Universities educational activities from regions around the world. A recent example at this point is the study made by Clay Shirky, author of "Here Comes Everybody", in which he proposed an innovating learning model, named Open Model of Education. In the Closed Model of Education or Classical System, education is limited because the ideas that a school or district can consider can come from only a limited number of sources, usually teachers, administrators, and consultants. A great deal of thought must be put into the consideration of ideas because the time and cost of failure are so high. Time spent with meetings, staff training, and materials, has a cost. This means the filter for ideas is very high. Only those ideas that seem to have the most benefit will be implemented, though there is no way to know in advance that one of the ideas picked will bring the desired benefit, and one of the ideas left on the table could be the most effective and beneficial.

It is true that by putting into practice an educational system based on the same universal fundamentals it essentially means stimulating globalization through its universal optic itself. Although the manner in which this model contributes to the globalization phenomenon is clear, still we must consider the fact that the final purpose of education is no other then confronting globalization's effects and influences, as well as the global negative impact upon environment and, ultimately, upon the way people live everywhere. Education will allow us to know the actual estate of the world, with all its pluses and minuses, and also will increase the awareness of the impact of every individual upon the world and upon the next generations. In other words, we consider politics, economy or administrative sciences weapons of less importance in the process of global issues eradication, compared to education, as a social science.

To conclude, I would like to specify the way these ideas were generated and which were their fundamentals. This actual study is not a result a thorough research activity, neither a genius idea. I am myself a "product" of a classic, formal educational system, but also had some benefits form the non-formal educational system by involving myself in a volunteer organization that developed soft skills and hard skills both. I consider that these educational practices are not adapted enough to the global context that we are facing everyday, and that specialized literature is exposing, bringing up to light its pronounced effects of human existence on Terra. I am a person that does not hold sufficient information and power to be a voice and to be able to get involved in a sustainable and constant development of society, whose values are not profit, nepotism, indifference towards future generations, but responsibility to create and offer equal chances. I am an ambassador of a civilization which is plunging headfirst, shy daring to change the dissonant order and murderously world.

Special Education

Friday, November 7, 2014

Special education refers to unconventional education services designed to cater to the needs of individuals suffering from physical and mental drawbacks such as physical handicaps, sensory (visual and hearing) impairments, intellectual capacity (mental retardation and autism), learning disabilities (reading and writing skills), speech impairment and those with behavior disorders. It seeks to address problems of the individual, as well as provide effective solutions through a set of formulated instructions, service aids and supports, learning techniques and transitions services.

The goal of special education is to address the needs of these special individuals (children, youth and adults) and ensure that they gain equal access to quality education regardless of their condition. In effect, it encourages them to keep up with the challenges of normal education and help improve their chances for success in life.

Specialized method of education

The primary focus of this special type of education is to provide support and learning techniques to the individual. Children are properly educated in the most learning-conducive environment to help them discover their in-depth skills and abilities hidden behind the disabilities they might have.

But not everyone can employ this educational service. As such, before the person can avail of it, different levels of evaluations must take place. The processes can vary, though the primary stages include referral, parental consent, child evaluation and review and recommendation of appropriate institutionalized methods.

An afterthought...

In today's society there are more than 6 million children and youth estimated to be suffering from disabilities, and the demand for special education has grown by leaps and bounds. By properly dealing with the issues and problems concerned and finding solutions, special education can give them the chance to stand up and be on equal footing with their peers, drawing out their true potentials as key movers and prime contributors to society regardless of their physical and mental difficulties.

Seeking Ways to Succeed As a Social Media Strategist

Thursday, November 6, 2014

Good things happen because of social media. Many companies or organization are now happy in their online presence because they are portrayed in a positive light. They can expand further in their business and reach out for more people as long as they know how to manage their social media networks and use it wisely.

Since social media is being used by hundreds of companies and other organizations, it's important to focus on the strategies to successfully launch the business. If you are just starting out in the social media practice, it's unlikely that you'll be finding the solutions quickly or there is a chance that you'll end up making huge mistakes. If you really don't want to lose clients, you really need some help to launch a successful social media program. For that, you need to become a good strategist. Here are a couple of ways on how you can become one:

Be proactive
When you are talking to a prospective client, you don't wait for the company to tell you what to do. If there is something lacking in their campaign strategies, advise them on what to do. Tell them exactly what needs to be done and not waste time. Provide them with a list of programs that you are offering and be clear with the guidelines. One example would be advising your prospective client about using Facebook Fan Page or setting up a Twitter account especially if the company's customers are found in these platforms.

Take action immediately
Once you have taken the role as an adviser, don't wait and move on to the next phase. You got to "talk the talk" and take action. Show your clients how social media works and how it's supposed to be done. Remember that your client may express skepticism at first and do not entirely trust social media unless he or she has seen the results. Assure your client that social media is the real deal by simply showing them your experience and skills.

Educate your clients
Of course, you cannot be there entirely for your client forever and would not need your services all the time, especially if you are really a busy person. So what you can do is provide enough training and seminars for employees who would be taking responsible soon in their programs.

Make sure to organize
You really don't want all your hard work go down the drain and you certainly don't want your client to end up getting disappointed. With that, you need to work on some organizing for your clients and introduce them with about social media guidelines policies, legal issues, processes, and even set up an ongoing education program for the employees. Make your clients understand that there are also limits as well. If restrictions are not set for every employee, it would be a breach of confidentiality.

Introduce social media programs
To make everything easy and smooth for your client, you can introduce a variety of programs for them to use and exhaust. There may be hundreds of social media management systems that will be of great use to their company. What matters though is that these channels would be used to interact and engage with your client's audience and make their community expand and grow better.

Go beyond marketing
As a strategist, you should make your client know that social media should surpass marketing, and exhaust it to improve your client's customer service, make their products and services better, respond to complaints and negative feedback, and accumulate customer experiences for promotion.

Bear in mind that even you are a social media strategist, it's unlikely that you'll be staying with your client forever. You may be an internal consultant for the company; however, with so programs or platforms that your client is running, you know they cannot manage all of them, so you need to teach your client to form a team. By leaving them on their own and for them to fend for themselves, they will be able to learn how to do it and can do some adjusting later on.

The Controversy Of Distance Education

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

It was just really nice to hear that there is a developing alternative method available for people to avail of education even outside the school premises. It was interesting to witness that the world has really been on its track towards globalization and progress. I agree that technological advancement is one of the most evident proofs for almost everyone. I believe that the development of distant education is on its way to being widely accepted by both students and educators because of its inherent and obvious benefits for parties (students and teachers), the government and the business sector. My stand is that distant education, online education, or interactive education, whatever anyone prefers, as an alternative method of knowledge acquisition cannot and should not replace traditional classroom education even if it be an indication of the world's progress.

Andrew Feenberg, in his article entitled "Reflections on the Distance Learning Controversy" has clearly shown favor for the online education as one of the pioneers of such program. His admiration for the purpose of the program is so obvious when he said that "the virtual classroom was a place of intense intellectual and human interaction" (A. Feenberg). I am personally in favor of pursuing distant education, knowing that such method can help a lot non-traditional students. It maybe possible that "intense intellectual and human interaction", as Feenberg claimed, can happen in online education. This is so because intelligent and smart students can be found anywhere else in the world, regardless of their nationality and age, as well as teachers. I also agree that such kind of students can be shaped by online education but like traditional classroom learning, the case is relative. I said so because learning depends on how eager and dedicated students are.

For Feenberg to say that "the quality of these online discussions surpasses anything I have been able to stimulate in my face-to-face" is something I would have to strongly disagree with. Feenberg spoke of his personal experience as an online teacher. The bias here is that not all teachers find the same thing. Linda Sweeney, in her article entitled "Guidelines for Being a Good Online Student" expressed her frustration in having students with bad learning habits who are to be kept reminded of their schedules. The obvious factor here is attitude. One problem with online education is the attitude of instructors, students, and administrators (D. Valentine). The quality of education depends on how the parties involved behave towards online education and how much importance do they place on the program. As one Professor stated, "The students' interest, motivation, questioning, and interaction must be on display throughout the learning process" (A.Arsham). As with the traditional classroom lectures, students and teachers interaction is vital in the learning process. The personal exchange of information and views are indications that both parties are interested on what they are discussing about. When students make queries or clarifications on the lesson, it means that students are taking things seriously.

Face-to-face class discussion has the advantage of on-the-spot monitoring of those who are showing interest because the students and teachers are physically with each other at the same time and at the same place. This means that checking the students' attitudes is immediate. This is hardly possible with distance learning where teachers have to do time-consuming e-mail just to remind students of their schedules. So Feenberg cannot absolutely claim that online discussions can surpass that one done with face-to-face. It is however admirable for Feenberg to admit that distance learning systems cannot replace face-to-face classroom education, as he stressed in his conclusion.

Another vital consideration in the issue of distance learning is the cost involved, which, Feenberg did not fail to pay attention to. While the author enumerated the benefits of distance learning, he did consider that "distance learning is not going to be a cheap replacement for campuses" (A. Feenberg). In his discussion, he looked into the interests of the parties involved relative to the cost of online education: the government, corporations, teachers and students. Feenberg's idea was that the government is interested in cost reduction for educational expenses while the corporations which are to provide the resources are obviously interested with sales and earnings of which I agree with. So the main concern here is the difference between cost efficiency and cost effectiveness. As Doug Valentine quoted Atkinson's statement: "it is possible for a program to be efficient but not cost effective if the outputs which are actually produced do not contribute to the program objectives: that is it may be efficient at doing the wrong things" (Atkinson, 1983).

With the actual cost of education as computed by Weber, the government does not actually have the assurance of achieving both cost effectiveness and cost efficiency. If the cost of training teachers, the cost hardware and software, human resources such as technicians and other people involved are to be considered, we can say that establishing online education is not as cheap as it may seem for others. Valentine stressed that "the costs associated with training technicians and instructors should not be overlooked"; citing the fact that online education requires a minimum of three persons in one setting compared with one instructor in a traditional setting.

Another thing is that online education cannot promise the quality. One reason is that there are still no clear standards set for the accreditation of this type of education. Another concern is that graduates of online courses do not have the hands-on training of their courses as reflected by the limitation of communication and training facilities. "Students also need the attention of the instructors" (D. Valentine). Considering the limitations of distance learning, I believe that the required attention from teachers will be a far more enduring task for teachers. It maybe far easier to remind students face to face than to do some emails, which gives no assurance when the students will receive the message. Worse, there is assurance that the instructions are clear for the students, or if they are, the feedbacks will obviously be delayed.

One more point to ponder on is the students' social growth. Because distance education involves only a small group who do not have frequent interactions, the social aspect of the students might be at risk. Students do not learn only on formal and educational conversations. As social beings, it is important that they too interact with others and have informal talks or converse with lighter topics. "These students miss the social contact and face-to-face interaction that an institutional setting provides" (S. Arsham). The challenge therefore is "for online courses to build and sustain a sense of growing community at levels that are comparable to the traditional classroom" (D. Valentine).

Lastly, I would like to give credit to Feenberg for navigating both sides of the issue of distance learning. While he was able to clearly present the benefits of online education, he is open to admitting the limitations of the program. Yes, Feenberg is right when he admitted that technology must be regarded as a medium of learning and not as replacement for the human factors, who are the traditional instructors. On the other hand, I also agree that teachers should not resist the development of online education and view it as a threat to their profession. Distance learning must serve as a challenge for them to cope up with economic and technological changes as part of the world's progress. The government must treat online education as better educational tools but not as replacement for school campuses. I believe that focusing on the needs of the poor people, who cannot even afford to attend even traditional education, is better than investing on distance education where obviously fewer people can afford.

Is There Value in a System? It is All About Education

Part-Time Versus Full-Time Entrepreneur Part 13
It All Boils Down To Education

Steve Hachey here and today I want to talk to you about the most efficient way to Educate yourself in the Marketing industry.

This is near and dear to my heart because I am an Educator. I am in my 11th year and this year is very special because of the fact that I am only Part-Time! I have finally realized after 10 year of a JOB (just over broke) that I need to live life instead of working it away.

Being an Educator it is imperative that I continue to upgrade and further my Education. When I jumped into network marketing a few years back I had no idea what I was doing.....much like the 95% +/- of those who are currently in marketing to some degree or another.

I knew that I was onto something but was in the dark and wet behind the ears. So I began Educating myself on Marketing. The quickest and most effective way to learn about marketing is without question....... subscribing to a system.

That it is, no ands, ifs or buts! (no sure about the spelling but I don't care at this point) I want to drive home the point that yes, reading, audios, seminars are all part of your ingredients to your success but hands down, a SYSTEM is the answer!

The beauty of a system is that it will not only help build your business but will also educate yourself at the exact same time.

I know there are a handful of systems out there, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. It all depends on what you are looking I guess.

The system I use was created by a young individual who has made it his mission to empower others to reach their full potential with the cutting edge use of technology.

Gone are the days of home meetings, hotel meetings, creating your list of 100 friends and family members.....This system educates you on the power of the internet. We learn exactly how to market online and how to have people want to partner up and learn from us.

Don't get me wrong, if you live in a very heavily populated area, then you can probably find enough people to hold a home meeting or a monthly hotel meeting. Eventually that grows old....

Let's face it folks.....if you are in sales, either direct, multi-level, affiliate, or any combination you need to learn how to market. It only stands to reason because the examples I just listed are all in the "Marketing" arena!

So, if you are truly serious about taking things to the next level you will want to do your homework and take a close look at paying a small monthly fee for a system.

You want to look for a proven system, one that has hours of training on all the latest strategies such as social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc), forums, article writing, pay per click advertising, blogging, product creation, preloaded data capture pages, just to name a few

So get out there and do your homework and begin educating yourself...

How and When to Use Social Media Channels

Monday, November 3, 2014

Most marketers focus upon two major concerns; HOW do they make money for their organisation and WHY do some marketing channels make more money that others.

When social media channels were first introduced every marketer adopted this new marketing concept and exploited the possibilities to solve their HOW and WHY concerns. Some notable organisations claimed spectacular results. However, engaging in Social Media marketing is a challenge particularly in integrating it into a companies existing marketing plan and to meet company expectations on profitability, and it's not for everyone.

Most marketers do not understand the dynamics that social media may not be the appropriate medium to engage in the promotion of their product or service. There are characteristics and special audience requirements to consider for each social media channel that will be discussed in this article for blobs and social media.

Most large organisations in the market place, activity engage in Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn but, usually, the promotion only accounts for less than 1%-2% of total revenues.

There are some pre-requisites required before you engage in social media:

  1. Know thyself - know your enemy as well as yourself
  2. Know your goals - have clear, achievable and measurable metrics
  3. Know your limits - set limits and do not exceed them.
  4. Create a clear, simple and proper marketing message or narrative.

Once your organisation has answered these questions, then all organisations should ask themselves and develop four fundamental questions.

  1. Is engagement in social medium right for my organisation?
  2. What is the appropriate match of social medium to my marketing message?
  3. Develop a four step social media strategy targeted to the product/message
  4. Develop appropriate metrics for measurable and growth.

Companies and organisations should adopt a reality check and not get drawn into the latest and greatest money earning fade pushed out by so called experts. Perform a reality check and ask yourselves is this right for the business. Decide what time, labour and budget will be allocated and do a "reality check" on the benefits.

Social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn were never intended to be a marketing channel - they were created for like-minded people to share like-minded experiences and referrals and not for marketing campaigns - although some recommendations from friends, fans

Although these incremental sales might be useful but do come at an expense in time and resources. LinkedIn was conceived as a professional job seeking channel, Twitter was conceived as a immediate sharing experience focused on the immediacy factor. The exception is Google. Google + (Plus) was created as a marketing tool and is having a hard time establishing itself in the marketing place because of that. Users in the social sphere are not yet ready to accept marketing material. They want to give advice, recommend data, product and news too friends, fans and followers and share superior knowledge.

Likes are not sales.

The marketing message is the board speak, the messaging of its representatives and the publicity language of its advertising departments and representatives that will determine the marketing message.

The essence of social media is which channel will communicate who you are most effectively. Treating all social media channels equally to carry your message will just drain all your efforts, resources and budgets. So its best to identify first which medium will deliver the best results in communicating your message.

Blogs are one of the best ways to communicate information and attract organic or natural search visitors. Websites do not change that often but blogs do or they should do. Blogs are more active and casual in presenting information and people tend to link to blogs as the information is usually current and up to date. Studies have shown that Blogs get more visitors than websites, get more links that websites, get more pages viewed and overall convert more that websites. From an SEO viewpoint blogs are fantastic for search engines to discover, crawl, index and return results to users' queries.

Blogs gain greater visibility than websites and as a consequence there is more interaction with your audience. Now here's the conundrum. Which social medium do I choose to get the best possible results? The answer to that question lies in the type of interaction you wish to have with your intended audience.

The messaging and interaction could be one:

  • To ask for support
  • Announce research material
  • To promote education
  • To network with like-minded people
  • To present the latest news

You would use Blogs when you want to:

  • Increase search visibility
  • To build links for long-tailed search terms
  • To educate the market space and community within it
  • Communicate high trust content
  • To build lists for emailing and promotional purposes for higher conversions and reach
  • To create brand value and equity

The way internet users begin to search the web for branded products also emphasis that Blogs are the best social medium to use. Studies show that:

  • 57% use search
  • 20% via Brand Website
  • 18% via Retailer
  • 3% via Facebook
  • 2% via Twitter

Surveys on Brand queries show only:

  • 25% of searches are successful at the first attempt
  • 42% of all search queries need refining
  • 44% of all search queries postpone their intent to buy for more that a day, week or month

Although Google does not term YouTube as a search channel, preferring to call it a video search channel, it is nevertheless:

  • The third largest website in the world
  • The second most popular search engine in the world
  • Gets four billion views every day
  • Gets sixty hours of video uploaded every 60 seconds
  • Three billion hours of video watched every month.

There are enormous traffic flows into YouTube but when do you use it:

  • To see it to believe it - good to demo new products and latest gadgets
  • To get highly visible traffic - good humorous videos get thousands of views
  • Portable video - copy and paste code to embed video onto websites, Facebook and other media
  • Re-publishable - can present different layers of the same topic (repurposing). It may be easier for the video to rank instead of the website
  • Influences search results by Google
  • Presents content in different methods
  • Extended reach - will reach out to multiple sections of the market place.
  • Extended media content

When you combine YouTube as a social media channel with Google search your video and website will automatically gain greater visibility. Other benefits are:

  • Increased rankings in search engine results
  • Important additional channels for rankings and visibility
  • Influences search results - captures attention

Remembering that social media interaction although great for exposure and awareness brings little conversions and profits. Studies show around 2% of revenues are generated by social media channels. However it's difficult to measure the impact that social media channels have on websites due to timing of a recommendation to visitors actually visiting the website. Your analytics will show a direct brand query rather than from a social media referral. Social Media has a place in your arsenal. It will bring results if your web marketing is used wisely and by directing your messaging via the most effective channel to maximise the greatest responses.
